“ This place is awesome! Sooo much food! Pancakes bigger than your head, bigger than anyone's head, seriously. The pancakes don't fit on the plate. Two pancakes is too much for one person to eat. Don't believe me? Go there and order pancakes you will see. The wait is intimidating, but it is worth it. ”
“ I love the location of this restaurant! If you are in big bear and looking for a simple but big breakfast, this is your spot! First, I suggest the earlier you get there the no wait! We got there around 7a and they open at 6a but after 730a you will see a HUGE line! The staff were very attentive and great! I love the inside, the decor was stickers and Veteran patches, Fire Dept, Poloce Dept from wall to wall & up on the ceiling! Ok the menu was straight to the point and their portions are great! The food was amazing and you can def go into a food coma here. I would def recommend coming here if you are in the mountains ”
“ We were lucky enough to stay at an Airbnb that was a 5 minute walk from Grizzly Manor. It was busy on a Sunday morning, as expected, but we were able to put our name down, go back home, and then come back with the rest of our party. They estimated a 1.5 hour wait for a party of 8 and let us know we'd be separated, which was okay with us. We returned in an hour, but our name had been called by then. The waitress was extremely nice and sat us right away even though we missed our time as there were 2 tables available. Later on, the table next to us left before our food had come and they let the other half of our party move next to us! All the food here is big portions and delicious! My sister and I shared the blob and didn't even finish it. We also tried the Rudy scramble, chicken fried steak, and pancakes (buttermilk, blueberry, and chocolate chip). The pancakes are especially huge, our waiter warned but we got 3 anyways, whoops! The hash browns were super crispy, aka perfect. We left extremely full, but satisfied. So happy we got to try Grizzly Manor, I want to go back during my next big bear trip! ”
“ Friendly staff, tight space, cozy ambiance, and delicious food. This place is great for sharing, as the portions are huge. Priced is equal to the value of what you get. Inside is mainly small tables of 4-5 people, and decorated with thousands of stickers all over the place, autograph pictures, etc. If you want to try this place, be sure to get here early. Whatever your time you think you're going to eat, get there 1 hour earlier unless you get there at opening. If you have a group of more than 4 people, expect to wait longer. Is it worth it? For the experience and food, I would say try it. Especially if you don't come to Big Bear often. It's like a legendary landmark to grab breakfast. They open mainly for Breakfast, and lunch, no dinner. As shown on the image I attached, pay cash for a small discount. Be sure to come here with an appetite. ”
“ Take your food to-go or be prepared to wait. This place is small and popular, but the workers are nice and food is decent. The parking lot is kinda busy as well. We got our food to-go and when we picked it up, the workers were cracking jokes about how much food we ordered. The vibes were super cool too, like you're at your family's house and hanging out. Food was decent and came in huge portions. My favorite was the hash browns, they were extra crispy. I ordered the Ron Seymour, but the country fried steak was kinda chewy and the gravy was a bit bland. Picking at my family's food: the ham steak was delicious and the pancakes were okay. I tried the banana one, blueberry one, and buckwheat one. I had high hopes for the banana one, but only the banana parts had ok flavor, other parts tasted like burnt sugar, not in a good one. Blueberry one was okay, not enough blueberry flavor. The buckwheat one surprised me.. tasted like a a sweet and soft slice of wheat bread. What was fun about the pancakes was they came in pizza boxes. Thought that was funny. So food was okay and on top of that, my niece ordered a "face" pancake. I think it's called the "chase face". They forgot to include the toppings to make the face, so we were all pretty bummed about that. ”
“ This will be the best review I have ever given. And I wish I could say better. One of the best simple breakfast in in California. It has been a few years since I went there the new owner (waitress) bought it. It was a little disorganized. Well now she is got it. This place is the best breakfast place I have ever been to. Plan on sharing. The pancakes are probably 16 inches two of them. I got the mushroom and cheese omelette . It was one of the best I have ever had. There is a lot of food. I told her to place a $2 egg surcharge while the egg prices are crazy. Her prices are so reasonable. Now for the best part of this place the people. The customers are very friendly. Maybe that is because the staff treats you better than family. The place is small so it gets busy. The coffee is farmers brothers. One of the best restaurant coffees if it is done right. Today's coffee was wonderful. I think all the staff has worked there for years. You can tell there friends. The manager has built and kept a teams that makes you want to come back. Today my big teddy bear cook was off. And you should have seen her hustle. If you miss this place I feel sorry for you. I drove 1.5 hours to eat there on my birthday. This is a place you have to try and enjoy once in your life. ”
“ Came here early ~7:50 on a Saturday morning and we're already quoted with a 30-40 minute wait time. Luckily, our party of 2 was seated in under 10 minutes at a 2 topper table. Service was quick, and the food was fundamentally delicious; the crispiness of the bacon, the fluffiness of the waffles, and the runnyness of the eggs over medium was executed to perfection. Being my first time eating here, I could understand how the being so close to the open concept kitchen and how the decor added to the walls by those stopping over contributes to such charm. Certainly worth stopping by if you can get here before the crowds. ”
“ Was so excited to try this place when we stayed at Big Bear. The vibes were spot on fun and funky with delicious food. It was a bit of a wait but we also had a party of 7 so we opted to sit as 2 different tables. We ordered omletts pancakes coffee bacon all the classics and were not disappointed! We could see the chef prepared the giant pancakes and the servers were so nice and funny. Food came out pretty quick and everything was just as we ordered. Flavorful hearty classic breakfast you really can't beat it! ”
“ If Grizzly Bears are the king of the forest, then Grizzly Manner is certainly the King of Greasy Spoons Diners! What a great spot. Grizzly Manner is a shotgun shack diner, which servers breakfast and lunch. Yes, you can spend several hours looking at all the pictures & stickers, plastered on every inch of the walls and ceiling; But what you really want is the Grub. Quality, Comforting Grub. some of the best breakfast food I've had in recent memory. All the plates are full, the portions are large and your coffee cup is never empty. The service is fast and friendly, and the operation is a well 'greased' machine. I don't know if the cooks ever stop. The kitchen is open so you can see how efficient the staff is. Don't let the line out front discourage you. There is no better place for breakfast in all of Big Bear. It's worth the wait!! ”
